One of the disbursements that can rarely be avoided when purchasing a property is the Local Authority Search. This is a search carried out with the Local Council to ensure that the property is not subject to any local or government authority proposals.
The search will also reveal whether the local authority is aware of any outstanding planning matters and any other matters that might be detrimental to the enjoyment of the property.
