Surrey

Epsom

Epsom is known for its horse-racing with the annual Derby a highlight. Reigate

This historic market town at the foot of the North Downs is a great location for families with its substantial homes – the best of which offer beautiful views. Independent shops and restaurants and an Everyman cinema make Reigate an appealing location.

Banstead

With a village atmosphere, Banstead is a popular community-oriented place. There’s no shortage of great spots for a walk including Banstead Downs, Mayfield Lavender Fields and a Narnia Trail through Banstead Woods. You can easily reach Central London by train. There’s a golf club too.

Runnymede

The borough of Runnymede includes towns and villages such as Addlestone, Chertsey, Egham and Virginia Water. There are rail links to Waterloo and easy access to the M3 and M25. The area is popular for thrill-seekers as it is home to Thorpe Park and its rollercoasters, and Thorpe Lakes for watersports. Historic Runnymede was the site of the sealing of Magna Carta in 1215, and is now enjoyed for its riverside and meadow walks. There’s a range of schools, including private options such as Sir William Perkins’s School and ACS Egham International School.

Spelthorne

The borough of Spelthorne includes the likes of Staines-Upon-Thames, Ashford, Sunbury-on-Thames and Shepperton. There are great pubs along the riverside and a wide range of shops. Property choices vary by area, but you can pick up new-build apartments with access to a residents’ cinema and gym, as well as budget-conscious terraces and family homes. Ewell

People are drawn to Ewell for a more peaceful pace of life. Nonsuch Park and Bourne Hall Park are popular spots for joggers and walkers. Ewell West, Ewell East, and Stoneleigh stations provide easy access into London. Bourne Hall Museum offers a glimpse into the area’s history, and pubs such as The Spring Tavern add to the charm of Ewell.

Guildford

Well-regarded state secondary schools such as Gordon’s and Tomlinscote make it a popular choice for families.

Tadworth

This village in the borough of Reigate and Banstead offers a perfect balance of country living with easy access to London. The exclusive enclave of Kinsgwood is home to highly desirable homes for those with ample budgets. Tadworth has a leisure centre and Kingswood Golf & Country Club. Tadworth railway station and Tattenham Corner offer services to Central London.

Waverley

The area of Waverley covers the likes of Godalming, Farnham, Haslemere and Cranleigh, with large swathes located in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Green and affluent, it is a popular choice for families.

Godalming

This ancient market town benefits from a picturesque setting on the River Wey and a large water meadow known as the Lammas Lands. Redhill

The town of Redhill lies at the foot of the North Downs and is made up of Victorian buildings alongside modern architecture. Chesham

Thames Ditton

Mole Valley

In the heart of the Surrey Hills, Mole Valley is a stunning location with lovely villages and the historic market towns of Dorking and Leatherhead. There’s no shortage of places for a walk with top spots including Box Hill and Leith Hill Tower. You’ll also find historic pubs such as The Running Horse in Leatherhead which is over 600 years old; The Running Horses in Mickleham is a mere baby at 400 years old. Dorking has arts and culture at Dorking Halls, Leatherhead has The Stockroom arts centre. Flats, bungalows, and family homes are in plentiful supply.

Horley

If you need to fly regularly from Gatwick Airport, then Horley is ideal, being just five minutes’ drive away. It also has convenient direct train links to London Victoria. Being on the doorstep of the Surrey Hills and the South Downs, locals are spoiled for countryside walks nearby. In the area there are period homes, detached houses, cottages, and modern builds, all at various price points, and cheaper than a lot of other places in Surrey.

Tandridge

The Tandridge district covers Oxted, Caterham, Warlingham, Godstone and Lingfield.
Lingfield is known for its horse racing. The pretty village also has a range of Tudor buildings. Oxted is a handy commuter town with direct trains to London, and appeals to affluent families. There’s a golf club too. Godstone has a popular farm and huge softplay area.

Woking

This bustling town has a range of cultural attractions such as the New Victoria Theatre and The Lightbox Gallery. Victoria Place has a wide range of high street brands and a cinema. There are commons, heathlands and the Basingstoke Canal towpath for a wander, too. You can also get to Waterloo in 30 minutes. You’ll find everything from simple flats to detached family homes in ample grounds.

Chipstead

The village of Chipstead retains a rural feel and strong community with a range of groups for residents, from badminton and cricket to arts and Brownies. There’s an historic church, village green and ponds, and traditional country pubs. Property-wise, there are new builds and character homes to choose from.
